The Roots Youth Model United Nations 2k16 commenced with an inauguration ceremony integrating mesmerizing Chinese, German, Spanish, Turkish, Brazilian and other global ethnic presentations by talented students of the Roots International Schools.
The opening ceremony included performances by students depicting and highlighting diverse colors of different ethos. These representations incorporated cultural harmony and peace around the globe. These presentations were meticulously appreciated by guests as well as delegates.
The ceremony officially commenced by the speech of RYMUN Secretary General Umer Faizan and Director General Obaid Ur Rahman. Students from various campuses of Roots International Schools gave electrifying performances at the inauguration ceremony.
The event congregated around 3,000 students and delegates from different cities. The ceremony was embellished by the manifestation of more than 14 Ambassadors from different countries. They appreciated the students’ efforts and highlighted that the amount of positive energy they have seen in every Rootsian is enough to accomplish their dreams, with the same enthusiasm and vitality.
The opening ceremony was followed by the colorful and rich cultured Global Village and fashion show in which the renowned designers showcased their collections and added beauty to the event.
The second day began with the committee sessions followed by the diplomatic Moot that allowed the students to glimpse into the world of diplomacy.
RYMUN hosted diplomatic moot in which more than 15 diplomats from different embassies were given a forum of discussion with the youth they formulated the policy and also gave their perspective on the trending agendas under discussion.
T.V anchor Mr. Faisal Rehman, moderated the whole General Assembly Session and made it an overall interactive and spellbinding experience for all the delegates. The use of drones: A potential threat for International peace and security, U.S Drone Warfare in Pakistan, Right of elderly individuals, Islamophobia and its discontent around the globe, establishing a Nuclear Free Zone through the Middle East and rehabilitation of Syrian refugees were the epicenter of point. Mr. Vittorio Cammarota, Director UNIC also embellished the session on the behalf of UN.
The second night students experienced loud music and an amazing house party with the best DG in town.
The third day was the most awaited day that ended with an extremely happening experience for students. Imran Khan live in the show.
Then the show comes to an end, what a magical and astonishing show it was that lasted four days. An event full of ethnic demonstration from the different parts of the world, colors, eagerness, enthusiasm and energy.
Closing ceremony catered 20 Ambassadors from different embassies in Islamabad. All the dignitaries were over whelmed to see the excitement and high spirits in students who were a part of this entire enchanted occurrence
